Checklist for an Online Yoga Class

  • Health Questionnaire

Disclose your medical records /underlying medical condition (if any) to your trainer in prior to attending your first yoga class for smooth experience.

  • Conducive Environment for Yoga practice

A clean, safe and well-ventilated place is recommended for practicing yoga. Practitioner may ensure that one wall should be empty in case he/she can take wall support in some asanas.

  • What to eat before practice?

Practitioner should be on preferably on empty or light stomach. It is recommended to practice after complete evacuation of bowels in early morning for best results. However, one may practice 1-2 hours after light meal or 3-4 hours after heavy meal.

  • What to wear?

Loose, light weight, breathable fabrics that one finds comfortable to wear while doing inversion /forward/ backward bend/ stretching practices etc. Practices are done in bare foot.

  • Be ready on time

Punctuality is the first step towards a disciplined life. You can login 5 mins prior to the class-time for hassle free experience.

  • Yoga accessories

You would require a good quality anti-skid yoga mat. It is advisable for beginners or elderly to keep props like bolster, yoga blocks, strap etc along with them during practice. These accessories are easily available in e-commerce platform or offline shop.

  • Proper Hydration

Keep your water bottle and handkerchief near you during practice sessions. You may use it according to your requirement.

  • Distraction-free space

It is advisable to keep your electronic devices off or in silent mode to avoid any distractions during practice. Also inform your family members not to disturb you during that time unless emergency.

  • When to have your meal after yoga session?

Don’t consume heavy food immediately post-workout. Let your body calm down and relax. Make sure to keep a gap of minimum 30 minutes between eating/bathing and workout sessions.
